Challenge
A Replication job displays the following error message for a VM that was previously able to be replicated:
Task failed. Error: Cannot process <vmname> (vm-####): template processing is disabled
Cause
This issue occurs when a VM that was added to a replication job is converted to a template.
Replication jobs cannot process templates, and templates cannot be selected when adding VMs to a replication job. However, if a VM is first added to a replication job and then that VM is converted to a template, the error documented in this article will occur.
Solution
To resolve this issue, either (a) convert the template back into a VM or (b) remove the template from the replication job.
